Branding: Willie's Beachside
Before coming up with my design concept for Willie’s Beachside restaurant, I’d took into consideration of doing research on most popular barbeque restaurants not only locally but nationwide. While researching, I’ve learned what most of the companies mainly focus on, what they typically like to show in their menu, what colors they like to pick-out in order to be eye-catchy. For most barbeque restaurants, they typically use pig imagery, steak, ribs, or symbol of smoke. For Willie’s Beachside restaurant I made sure to take note on my research and decided to use some of the color schemes that previous barbeque restaurants had used for their company but I kept in mind what Willie’s Beachside stood for and I made sure that the color scheme was exciting and not boring or the typical logo that you would see from a barbeque restaurant. The concept for the logo was to come up with curve, wavy and organic look. I wanted to go for something different that represent the beachside of the Willie’s restaurant. I wanted the viewers to be in awe when they enter the restaurant seeing that this is not just a sea food area but also a barbeque restaurant (a mixture of both). I believe that with the concept that I am going for, it would be eye-catchy and be different from the other logos that are out there. So I decided to use the concept of a Shrimp (represent seafood but also represent the southern side barbeque shrimp). For the company logo, menu, napkin, t-shirt and take-out bag color scheme, I wanted to collaborate not only warm colors but I also wanted to represent cool colors. The colors as you can see in my designs are red, orange, brown, baby blue and white. I think that these are the perfect colors to use, to excite the audiences and to create a great kids menu with this concept and make the restaurant fun. Overall the designs are family friendly, exciting, and warm welcoming for all ages.
